"Memory is evil and tricky."

--Neil Gamain

Hazy, cloudy...not quite right. Our memories warp and change over time. Even the most unforgettable of encounters become gray and murky. As a society, we have created numerous ways of solidifying and documenting our experiences. Drawings, paintings, and scuplture were eventually joined my print media and photography. As technology marched forward, our ability  grew to be able to not only to more easily capture memorable occasions, but to allow us to easily manipulate events and important occasions that might otherwise be lost to tales told among friends or family. We now control how our memories are perceived. Using a combination of photography, drawing, and printmaking, my current work questions how we engage, document, and confront the visuals of memory in this age of image manipulation and social media.

I am a practicing artist and art educator. I am a life-long student who has even been the teacher from time to time. I have instructed classes at the college level and even spent a year teaching art to 8th & 9th graders in the public school system-- I even lived to tell about it. Prior to returning to school for my MFA, I spent close to 17 years as a commercial screen printer and graphic designer, where I taught countless people the fine art of pulling the squeegee.

I am an avid sci-fi nut and fan of fantasy, and won't hesitate to bring either into my work. I collected comic books for years and owe more to the influences of artists like Arthur Adams and George Perez than my work will ever demonstrate.  I have recently relocated to San Antonio, TX having spent far too many years in West Texas and the Texas Panhadle. Too. Much. Dirt. My current mission is to explore this strange new world, seeking out new places to show and find new processes to explore.
